Dear Friends,
So many of you have reached out feeling discouraged and defeated. The conservative movement took some hard hits on Tuesday. For those of you in states where it feels like you have lost everything you worked for, I won’t pretend those losses don’t hurt.
What we do next matters. That is why I want to share a few reasons for hope.
This isn’t about putting a cheerful face on disappointing results. It’s about remembering what we are working for, where our strength comes from and how much work is still within our reach.
I want to let you know that there are real reasons for hope out of Tuesday night’s election results.
In Florida, Governor-elect Byron Donalds and incoming First Lady Erika Donalds have long been friends of Moms for Liberty and advocates for parental rights and education freedom.
Byron has spoken at four of our five National Summits and several other Moms for Liberty events. During his service in the Florida Legislature, he supported greater transparency in education and more options for families.
Erika has served on Moms for Liberty Advisory Committee from the beginning. She has been fighting for parental rights and education freedom long before Moms for Liberty was born and she continues to be a fierce advocate for our mission. I am grateful for her years of commitment to this work.
Across the country, Moms for Liberty chapters endorsed more than 80 candidates. Some races are still being counted, particularly in California, but there are victories worth celebrating:
- Madison County, Alabama, chapter chair Emily Jones won her State Board of Education race as our chapters made their first endorsements in state-level education races.
- In Kansas, Amy Cawvey and Alana McWilliams won their state education board races.
- Howard County, Indiana, chapter chair Paula Davis won her seat in the Indiana House.
- In Monmouth County, New Jersey, all four chapter-endorsed candidates won.
- In Catawba County, North Carolina, three chapter-endorsed candidates won.
- In Iredell County, North Carolina, two chapter-endorsed candidates won.
- Four states had girls’ sports measures on the ballot yesterday, Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, and Washington and it looks like all four are going to pass!
To every candidate who put your name on a ballot, and every volunteer who knocked on doors, made calls or stood outside a polling place, we say thank you.
Hope Begins With Us
An election does not change who our children need us to be or the responsibility we have to protect their future. Our children are watching how we respond to disappointment. Let them see courage, resolve, and a love for our country that refuses to give up. The work of raising strong families, ensuring children receive a quality education, and teaching the principles of liberty and self-government is bigger than any single election. Our mission remains the same, and our commitment must be stronger than ever.
Hope Grows When We Stand Together.
Reach out to thank the candidates who stepped forward, encourage the volunteers who gave their time, and remind fellow parents that they are not alone. Get involved in your local schools, join or start a Moms for Liberty chapter, and help the next generation understand the freedoms we have inherited and the responsibility to preserve them. Elections matter, but lasting change begins in our homes, schools, and communities. We still have the power to shape our children’s future, and there is too much at stake to give up now.
Our work has never been more important than it is right now.
With our groundbreaking new tool, M4L AWARE, we are uncovering hidden threats to parental rights and children like never before. And we have an extraordinary opportunity to turn that knowledge into action—mobilizing our army of moms to confront radical ideologies and harmful policies in red, blue, and purple communities and school boards across America.
But we cannot do it without you.
Take time to reflect and recalibrate. But then, let us not lose hope. Let us turn our resolve into action.
Join us by becoming a member and standing alongside parents fighting for the next generation.
Or make a gift today to help equip and deploy our members into the critical battles ahead.
The challenges are great. But so is our resolve.
Our children are worth fighting for. And together, we are not giving up.
With Hope and Determination,
Tina
