Moms For Liberty - Erie PA warmly welcomed three school board members, a PA district representative, and the national, nonprofit grassroots group Parents Defending Education for a public forum.

With primary elections coming up in May, the chapter decided to help those willing to volunteer for a campaign, run for school board, or activate in their community.

“It’s just to empower our community members to rise up and fight for what they believe in and have the courage to change their community in their schools,” said Kellie Gilmore, Moms for Liberty District Representative and Board Member.

Three current and former school board members, including Sean Dunn of Girard; Rosemary Sheridan of Erie; and Donna Reese of Millcreek; as well as State Representative Jake Banta were all part of a Q&A panel.

The group also welcomed Parents Defending Education, who gave a presentation on empowering parents and community members to participate in local activism, especially at the school levels.

The Erie chapter is currently planning another candidate forum for late August.
