Chapter Leadership
Moms for Liberty - New Hanover County is dedicated to the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government.
We serve the New Hanover County System which includes 42 elementary schools, 49 middle schools, and 32 high schools, and also the private and charter schools in the community. Our members are parents, grandparents, and concerned citizens.
Our Chapter launched in June 2022 and was the first chapter in North Carolina east of I-95. We were the thirteenth chapter in NC, which now has 22 chapters and another soon to join. We hold our public meeting on the third Tuesday evening of every month at various locations around the county to allow broader participation from all New Hanover County families. We have a strong presence at the monthly Board of Education meetings and speak about many of our concerns at these meetings.
The founding members of our Chapter actively advocated for a mask-optional policy and the return of students to in-person learning throughout the 2021-2022 school year. We brought attention to a 9th-grade required reading that contained explicit sexual passages and we are leading the call to replace it with a more appropriate selection. We are currently advocating for an updated book review process.
We are extremely proud to announce that all four of our endorsed school board candidates were elected to office in November 2022, flipping the school board to a 5-2 majority!
We would also like to announce that our chapter Founder, Natosha Tew, is running for the New Hanover County Board of Education. She won her primary election on March 5th and is moving forward to the general election which will be on November 5th, 2024.

About Us
We are Moms, Dads, Grands, Aunt, Uncles, Friends
Moms for Liberty welcomes all that have a desire to stand up for parental rights at all levels of government.
Our founders are Tiffany and Tina, moms on a mission to stoke the fires of liberty. As former school board members, they witnessed how short-sighted and destructive policies directly hurt children and families. Now they are using their first-hand knowledge and experience to unite parents who are ready to fight those that stand in the way of liberty.
