Moms for Liberty - Mecklenburg County Chapter is dedicated to the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government.
All Americans should have access to free public education that is excellent. 40% of NC tax payers dollars go to education, and our public education is failing us right now. M4L is dedicated to changing that.
We are stronger together!
We serve the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System which includes 96 elementary schools, 49 middle schools, and 32 high schools. Our members are parents (and grandparents) of students at these schools and also the private and charter schools in the community.
Our Chapter launched in March of 2021 and was the 11th M4L chapter in the nation. We were the first Chapter in the state of North Carolina which currently has 20 chapters. We have a strong presence at the monthly Board of Education meetings which are typically the second Tuesday of every month at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center at 6:00 pm. We speak about many of our concerns at these meetings.
In 2021 our Chapter actively advocated for a mask-optional policy and the return of students to in-person learning. We have an annual school supply drive and give backpacks away to children in need.We also provide pocket Constitutions to all CMS 8th graders for the celebration of Constituton Day. In 2022 we brought attention to a 9th grade required reading that contained explicit sexual passages and led the call to replace it with a more appropriate selection. We have tirelessly advocated for an updated book and curriculum review process and have finally seen great progress since the passage of the Parents' Bill of Rights.
In 2023 the NC Chapters of M4L formed a Legislative Committee, and our Chapter Chair is the Vice Chair of the state legislative committee. The committee lobbied for legislation to protect women in sports and a Parents' Bill of Rights among other things.
Please, become a member of our chapter. Together we are stronger. Members recieve newsletters and gain exclusive access to events like national member virtual trainings and meetings.
We have two membership levels: one is free and the other is paid. Annual dues are only $30 and help us greatly.
ARE YOUR DISTRICT LEADERS FOLLOWING THE LAW?
Please, report any incident in your school district that you believe goes against the North Carolina Parents’ Bill of Rights. Be as specific as possible and provide as much evidence and information as possible; include pictures and screenshots if possible. Do you have a concern about a teacher/superintendent/other district employee openly speaking out against it and not following it? Do you have a concern about how your district completely ignores it? Tell us about it!
