Communications Officer

Some Travel Required
- Responsibilities include:
- Social media management and marketing
- Train members on how to handle media
- Respond to crises or challenging situations quickly and professionally
- Make sure all company materials have consistent and positive messaging and branding
- Conduct quality control on all communications
- Develop relationships and work with media outlets and other companies
- Build and maintain media list
- Maintain Brand & Style guide
- Draft press releases and speeches following organizational news
- Update website
- Assist with podcast functions
- Create press kits
- Collaborate with executive team to identify the public voice of the brand
- Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies
- Write letters, interdepartmental memos and other correspondence
- Develop materials to educate members on communication practices

Job Requirements
Experience
Previous experience in a communications role is a requirement.
Skills
Exceptional communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening
Experience with digital communication
Analytical skills to solve problems and find the best way to convey a message
The creativity to produce exciting and interesting content
Organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize projects while working in a fast-paced environment
Work on a variety of digital platforms and also create web and mobile content
Professional understanding of crisis management
Ability to effectively engage with team members at all levels and across departments
Great project management skills, including time management, goal-setting, multitasking and prioritization
Good data analysis, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Leadership abilities, including training and mentorship
